Tonight we will be looking at a match between Indiana Fever, as hosts and Connecticut Suns as guests in an exciting match in WNBA.
Indiana Fever have started this year’s season poorly as they have lost both of the matches played. The first match of the season for Indiana was against Phoenix Mercury, which they lost by 23 points (85:62). Sadly their next match did not bring better results, as they lost to Seattle Storm (87:82). They did shoot better compared to the match against Phoenix, but a loss is still a loss. It’s clear that Indiana Fever are not in the best form at the moment and the reason is clearly seen, it’s their defence. Indiana Fever should improve their defensive performance, as they have failed to prevent their opponents scoring under 80 points in the last 5 matches and they have not won a match since.
Their opponents, Connecticut Sun cannot brag with a better start of the season than Indiana. However, Sun played only 1 game so far, against Atlanta Dream (74:81). This match was more or less decided in the 1st half, with Atlanta getting a 9 point lead prior to 3rd quarter. With both teams yet to taste a win this season, this will be an important match for both, maybe even more important for Indiana, who cannot afford a 3rd loss in a row. Bookmakers are giving an edge to Indiana due to the importance of the match for them and of course home ground advantage. However, in my eyes, Indiana are not performing as good as they can at the moment. Losing 5 straight games is not a good sign and I do not expect any surprising improvement from them in tonight’s match. With that in mind, I see this match as a close one, so betting on Connecticut and giving them a 6 point head start should be enough for them to seal the deal.
