2021 World Snooker Championship – Quarter-Finals Betting Picks
Betting-Previews brings you the best bets for the first two Snooker World Championship quarter-finals matches. Here are our free snooker betting tips and predictions for Anthony McGill vs Stuart Bingham and Neil Robertson vs Kyren Wilson.
Anthony McGill vs Stuart Bingham
Tuesday, April 27 – 10:00 BST
It’s fair to say that no one expected these two to meet at this stage of the tournament. Perhaps you could make a case for Stuart Bingham, but seeing Anthony McGill make it so far is quite impressive, to say the least.
Talking about impressive, McGill looked extremely solid in his match with Ronnie O’Sullivan (13-12), where he withstood everything O’Sullivan threw at him. Having the skill to defeat O’Sullivan and the mind to play in such high-pressure situations are two key factors why we view McGill as a star player.
He is still priced as an underdog to Bingham and that’s completely fine. The latter is playing some of the best snooker in his career and seems set to claim his second title after 2015.
If we had to pick between the two, we would have to go with Bingham, largely because Bingham should come out ahead, If this match goes close. That’s where this prediction ends, however, our premium members might have a few questions about our bet on McGill to win 1st quarter (21.00 at Bet365).
Whether or not you want to hedge this bet is really up to you. That said it’s hard to pass on guaranteed profit. Those who bet on McGill to win 1st Quarter might consider backing Bingham (1.66 at bet365) with 12.67 units to guarantee a profit of 7.33 units.
Prediction: Stuart Bingham to win – 1.66 at Bet365
Neil Robertson vs Kyren Wilson
Tuesday, April 27 – 10:00 BST
Neil Robertson and Kyren Wilson met six times since 2014. Out of those six bouts, Robertson half, with Wilson picking up the remaining three – including both of the last two.
If we focus solely on the last two bouts (in 2020 and February 2021), Wilson accumulated an 11-2 aggregate score lead, which includes a 5-0 at Welsh Open in 2020.
Having such a strong head-to-head record should give Wilson an added boost to step it up and continue the trend. That said, both have been playing incredibly well so far so it’s not like we expect a one-sided affair.
For the same reason, we are quite surprised to see Wilson as such a big favorite (3.00 at bet365). Perhaps Wilson’s struggles against Barry Hawkins might explain slightly higher odds, but this is still a bit too big of an overreaction in our books.
Even though backing the outsider might be appealing, taking Wilson with +3.5 frames makes more sense to us. He has shown enough for us to believe he has a chance to win, or at very least keep this one close.
As a part of our premium membership, we have backed Kyren Wilson to win 3rd Quarter (4.33 at Bet365), which presents our premium members with an opportunity to lock in the profit.
If you followed our premium predictions and backed Wilson to win the third quarter with one unit, you can look to bet on Robertson to win this match with 3.09 units to ensure 0.24 units. The number is rather small, and considering that we have faith in Wilson to win, it’s up to any individual to figure out what the best course of action is.
Prediction: Kyren Wilson +3.50 frames – 1.66 at Bet365
