Admira
Admira were eliminated from further participation in Europe as they were defeated 2-0 at Liberec in Tuesday night’s away match. Team from Oliver Lederer will now change their focus to domestic competition as they host Rheindorf Altach in their first home match of the season. For the upcoming game, manager Lederer will surely miss suspended Wostry, who was sent off last week in St. Pölten. It is a weakening to be without him as he is a very important defensive player that has seen much of the ball while building their attacks from deep. Alterations in the back line will be needed as Pavić is out as well; there is a strong chance that Maranda will be given a chance to start his first match of the season, replacing his suspended teammate at the heart of the defence. Toth has been named among the match squad and there is a strong chance he will start in the central third. That is likely to see Lackner moving to CB where he will be a stronger replacement for the suspended Wostry. Fatigue could be an issue so Lederer might decide to rotate his key players in the attacking third. Grozurek ST2 is back from injury while Vastić missed the midweek match due to a ban; both are in contention to start this match.
Rheindorf Altach
Squad is generally healthy as only Ortiz and Aigner are still ruled out through injury. They performed well against Rapid Wien last week and the manager may not feel a need to change much. However, Salamon and youngster Oberlin are strongly pushing for a starting spot after being involved in a winning action last week. Superb atmosphere as they’ve won their both opening matches while keeping their a clean sheet in both. They’ll continue to play in different systems and might set up in a 4-2-3-1 here; relying on counter attacks. The visitors are likely to be balanced with their approach and are expected to use a similar style as the hosts. Expect to see key duels in the central third. They’ll use width when trying to get in the opponents half and will use the ability of Oberlin to create and get into the danger zone. Rheindorf Altach possesses a defensive strength that could see them keeping a clean sheet for a third match in a row. The back line is tight, composed and compact as they rely on simple decisions when trying to clear danger at the back.
Verdict & Prediction
Altach will believe that they can cause problems for an Admira side that have been involved in a midweek fixture, so the guests will try use a fatigue and negative momentum that has occurred following Admiraˈs elimination from Europe.
