Atlanta United vs New England Revolution

Where: Mercedes-Benz Stadium in Atlanta, Georgia, United States
Weather: Clouds, 27°C
Atlanta Without Key Players
The Five Stripes will host New England Revolution at Mercedes-Benz Stadium with a weakened squad. GK Brad Guzan, Miles Robinson, and Brad Guzan are all on international duty and will not be able to help their team today.
Adding to the list of missing players are midfielders Mo Adams (2-3 months with a leg injury) and Emerson Hyndman, as well as Alex DeJohn, who broke his elbow in Atlanta’s 2-2 draw with Nashville SC. Although he played out the game, he is expected to miss the match today and will be evaluated on a week-to-week basis.
On a more positive note, Amar Sejdic could feature today, after signing for Atlanta United last week, while Jake Mulraney has had his red card overturned by an Independent Review Panel, who has unanimously rescinded the decision made by Joseph Dickerson.
Atlanta United enter this match with a 2-7-3 record on the season and 0-3-2 in their last five outings. That run includes losses to New York City (0-1) and Chicago Fire (0-3), and three draws against Philadelphia Union (2-2), New York Res Bulls (0-0), and Nashville SC (2-2).
Atlanta United have managed 13 goals but conceded 15 on the season and are 4-8 across their last five.
New England Revolution’s Struggles
New England Revolution sit atop of the Eastern Conference with a 7-3-3 record and 24 points. They’re three points clear of Orlando City, who still have one game in hand.
Despite Revolution’s success over the season, their form of late hasn’t been too convincing. They’re 0-1-2 in their last three with losses to FC Dallas (1-2) and Toronto FC (2-3), and a 2-2 draw with Columbus Crew.
What’s more, Revolution are 2-3-2 on the road with a 2-2-1 record in their last five. At Gillette Stadium, Revolution managed a 5-0-1 record, where they have collected 62.5% of their points on the season.
For today’s match, Revolution will miss Luis Caicedo, who is out with a leg injury. In addition, Tajon Buchanan and GK Matt Turner are out for today as they attend international duties.
New England Revolution have managed a 22-18 goal difference on the season, but have conceded seven and scored only five in their last three. Gustavo Bou has scored twice over that stretch and is now at six goals from 11 outings.
The 31-year-old Argentinian is Revolution’s top goalscorer, followed by Adam Buksa, who has managed five in 13 outings.
Atlanta United vs New England Revolution Betting Picks
Atlanta United and New England Revolution last met in May, when Revolution won 2-1 at home. However, they have lost all of their previous four head-to-head bouts.
Revolution’s victory against Atlanta in May marked their first H2H win in their history, having never beaten the Three Stripes at Mercedes-Benz Stadium. Revolution are 1-2-5 in the h2h with Atlanta and 0-4 as visitors.
Atlanta United have been drawing way too many games this season, which definitely doesn’t help their cause here; however, they have yet to lose at home.
