Detroit Pistons v Charlotte Hornets – NBA Betting Preview
During the offseason, there was a lot happening, however, there were some teams who stayed “in the shadows”. Some of them did not bring much attention to themselves, and one of those teams is Charlotte Hornets. They will appear in the new season with a relatively same squad as they had last year. Despite the fact, they did not perform very well (36-46), they hope their squad will do a better job this time. At the end of the day, they were only 5 games short of appearing in the Play-offs. With a few changes, the most interesting is the arrival of Dwight Howard from Atlanta. In addition, Hornets drafted Monk and Bacon.
Their opponents, Detroit Pistons are another team that were not very active during offseason. The biggest Pistons made move was Morris to Celtics in exchange for Bradley. In the draft, they picked Luke Kennard, 21y old SG with their 12th overall pick. Although with strong players in that position, I can not imagine he will get to play a lot of minutes. Regarding injuries, Hornets will miss Batum, who has torn a ligament in his elbow, as well as Michael Kidd-Gilchrist who is currently dealing with personal issues. This seems as a huge blow to Hornets, but they still have a good enough roster to fill in those spaces. Kemba Walker and Dwight Howard will be expected to show their worth today. In addition, Hornets have strong players in Jeremy Lamb and Monk, who will most likely cause a lot of problems for Pistons.
Verdict & Prediction
Hornets have a strong team, despite missing two of their key players. In addition, Pistons coach Stan Van Gundy admitted he has some problems with his rotation. We will use that advantage of Hornets and say they will get their first win of the season at Caesars Arena.
Prediction: Charlotte Hornets to win
