League of Legends – LCS Spring Week 5 – Day 2

Team Liquid vs Evil Geniuses
Sunday, February 23 – 12:00 PST

Team Liquid have yet to find their form this season and it seems like they will need a couple more weeks to do so, however, that is no excuse to have them priced as high as 1.471 to defeat Evil Geniuses.

While the reigning LCS champion had their moment of weakness last week when they lost to Immortals, they are clearly a superior team to Evil Genuises, who in all fairness have nothing going for them. Their macro play is poor and their drafts are even worse. The kills line is set at 6.5 which is way too low for this bout. If there won’t be any surprises, Team Liquid should win this one with relative ease and should be able to cover the seven kills without much hassle.

Prediction: Team Liquid -6.5 – 1.884 at Pinnacle

Immortals vs Cloud9
Sunday, February 23 – 13:00 PST

No team thus far managed to stop Cloud9 or even come close to doing so and it’s not likely Immortals will be the ones who will hand C9 their first loss of the season.

Immortals are entering this match priced at 5.2 while Cloud9 are priced at 1.157, which is fair, however, the total kills line (19.5) seems a bit low for this bout. Immortals will have nothing to lose here and they have visibly improved since the opening fixtures of the season. While they still lack the needed quality to contest top spots, they should at least secure a couple of kills and keep this match interesting. 20 kills by the end of the match seems achievable and with 1.847 offered on Pinnacle, it might be worth a punt. We would, however, avid betting on the kills handicap (+/-8.5), as there is no telling whether Cloud9 will be able to completely stop Immortals.

Prediction: Over 19.5 kills – 1.847 Pinnacle

100 Thieves vs Golden Guardians
Sunday, February 23 – 14:00 PST

This bout is the biggest question mark of the week, as 100 Thieves clash with Golden Guardians. Both teams are two of the most inconsistent teams in the league, as they tend to be very volatile in their performances.

Bookmakers have Golden Guardians priced as underdogs (2.16 at Pinnacle), while 100 Thieves enjoy the tag of the favourites (1.645 at Pinnacle). This might make Golden Guardians an appealing bet, given that they have a legitimate chance to win here, however, it’s their inconsistency that makes this match very unpredictable.

An over 21.5 kills bet (1.833 at Pinnacle), however, might be worth a look as this could turn out to be a close and fast-paced match considering 100 Thieves have nothing to lose and a lot to gain by winning here.

Prediction: Over 21.5 kills – 1.833 at Pinnacle

FlyQuest vs Counter Logic Gaming
Sunday, February 23 – 15:00 PST

We backed CLG yesterday to put up a fight against Cloud9 and they did not disappoint. While they still suffered a defeat, CLG are visibly improving since they acquired Eugene “Pobelter” Park. It seems like they will still need more time to find their rhythm and climb their way out of the hole they’re in, however, CLG have shown enough to prove they are capable of putting up a fight against FlyQuest who can be a hit-or-miss team.

The kills line is set a bit high here, with 1.99 offered on CLG +5.5 kills. Another thing worth looking at is the total kills which has 1.826 offered on over 21.5. Both seem like a solid bet and if CLG get their ball rolling in the early game, they just might pocket their second win of the season.

Prediction: Counter Logic Gaming +5.5 kills – 1.99 Pinnacle
Prediction: Over 21.5 kills – 1.826 – Pinnacle

Best Bet: Immortals vs Cloud9 – Over 19.5 kills – 1.847 Pinnacle
