League of Legends – LCS Spring Week 9 – Day 2

Golden Guardians vs FlyQuest
Sunday, March 29 – 12:00 PST

Golden Guardians are entering the Sunday’s bout following a solid win against Counter Logic Gaming, which gives them a chance to enter the playoffs, however, for that to happen both Immortals and Dignitas have to lose, meaning that GG’s realistic chances to finish top six are rather slim.

That won’t stop them from putting up a show, while we can’t say the same for FlyQuest, who are more or less guaranteed top-4 placement. The motivation will play a huge role in this clash, which is why siding with the underdogs is the only reasonable thing to do from a betting perspective.

Prediction: Golden Guardians to win – 3.24 at Pinnacle – Best Bet

Dignitas vs Team SoloMid
Sunday, March 29 – 13:00 PST

More or less the same concept as with the previous match. TSM can’t lose their playoffs spot, and although they might, in theory, clinch the top-four placement, it’s hard to expect too much from them. On Saturday, TSM put up a poor display against 100 Thieves, where it was clear that they don’t really care how the final week goes. Although we don’t have the information, it seems like TSM are one of the teams who believe Spring Split doesn’t matter.

Dignitas on the other side could potentially secure a playoffs berth, if Immortals drop the ball against Evil Geniuses, which should give them the added motivation to redeem themselves for poor performances throughout the season and give TSM a run for their money. An outright bet on Dignitas at 2.69 might be tempting, but we like the +5.5 kills handicap bet better, as it still proved us with generous 1.925 odds.

Prediction: Dignitas +5.5 kills – 1.925

Immortals vs Evil Geniuses
Sunday, March 29 – 14:00 PST

Immortals are entering this match priced as heavy underdogs, which is fair, considering they have not looked too solid this season, and definitely not in their loss against Dignitas on Saturday. Due to their failure to secure a win at the start of the weekend, however, Immortals are now put in a position, where a loss would almost certainly guarantee them finishing outside the top six.

Although Evil Geniuses look to be a much stronger team on the paper, their performance against Cloud9 was less than impressive. Siding with the underdog here is a no-brainer pick and with 2.57 offered on Immortals, it’s hard to pass on this opportunity.

Prediction: Immortals to win – 2.57 at Pinnacle

Team Liquid vs Cloud9
Sunday, March 29 – 15:00 PST

In theory, Team Liquid should be more motivated to win here, but as we have come to realise, Cloud9 refuse to put their foot off the gas despite the fact they have secured their playoffs spot in Week 6.

That, however, does not necessarily mean Cloud9 should stop Liquid, who still have strong individuals, yet their synergy seems to be a huge issue. If they can overcome their difficulties here, Liquid could come out ahead, but the low morale in the team makes it hard to say whether they are capable to produce an upset win.

100 Thieves vs Counter Logic Gaming
Sunday, March 29 – 16:00 PST

It doesn’t really matter how this game ends for Counter Logic Gaming, however, 100 Thieves will still strive to win and pocket a top-four finish which is within their grasp. Based on their recent performances 100T should be more than capable of securing a win here, not so much because 100T looked exceptionally strong, but rather because CLG looked very weak on Saturday.

Prediction: 100 Thieves -6.5 kills – 1.892 at Pinnacle
