LoL EU Masters 2021 Spring – Group Stage Day 2 Betting Preview

LoL EU Masters 2021 Spring - Group Stage Day 2 Betting Preview

LoL EU Masters 2021 Spring - Group Stage Day 2 Betting Preview

The seventh edition of Europe’s premier semi-professional tournament, called LoL EU Masters 2021 Spring, continues with Day 2 fixtures, slated for Thursday, April 15. Day one gave us a brief insight into which teams have entered the tournament in hot form and which still have some polishing to do, but with eight more rounds left to be played, anything can change.

BT Excel vs Karmine Corp

Thursday, April 15 – 16:30 CEST

BT Excel enter the second day of EUM off a painful loss against Schalke 04 Evolution. BT Excel entered the match as 1.43 favorites, which was a complete overreaction, but that’s normal for this league, that sees teams from several different leagues come together.

BT Excel have entered the EUM as one of the best teams (statistically) in the league, leading their group in almost all First X metrics including: Kills (77.78%), Turret (66.67%), Dragon Soul (100%), and Baron (8.33%). Adding to that. BT Excel also had the highest average counts for five out of seven metrics – Kills (18.78), Turrets (9.11), Dragons (3.09), Dr. Souls (0.39), and Barons (1.00).

Those high stats, however, don’t mean much since BT Excel hail from a much weaker region than S04E, who oddly enough haven’t averaged particularly high marks in any of the metrics.

The difference in region’s strength is also the main factor we need to consider, for this bout. Karmine Corp come from the French La Ligue Française (LFL), which has had teams reach at least semi-finals in both of the last two EU Masters.

For that reason, we have to value Karmine Corp’s stats higher than that of BTXL. Interestingly enough KC have averaged very similar stats than Excel – Kills (18.05), Turrets (8.14), Dragons (3.00), Dragon Soul (0.36), and Barons (0.77), albeit against stronger opponents.

BT Excel vs Karmine Corp Betting Picks

EUM is known for upset wins, but we wouldn’t count on that happening here. KC looked extremely solid in their win against Cream Real Betis on Wednesday, whereas we have nothing good to say about BT Excel’s performance against S04E.

BT Excel lost that bout with a 3-15 kill score and 12.8k gold deficit. Although they managed to grab two drakes, that was also their ONLY objective on the board. The British squad got completely outclassed by a team that shouldn’t stand a chance against Karmine Corp, so it’s easy to confidently predict how this match should go.

Prediction: Karmine Corp to win – 1.529 Pinnacle

FC Schalke 04 Evolution vs Cream Real Betis

Thursday, April 15 – 16:30 CEST

As noted, the difference in team stats shouldn’t be the main thing to consider when picking out a winner. However, if we go on and compare the numbers these two sides have put up, we get a very clear picture of how this match should go.

Hailing from the SuperLiga (SL), Cream Real Betis have had to face relatively tough opponents, but I wouldn’t say SL is much stronger than the Prime League (PL), which has produced teams that have either reached the finals or won the EUM in three out of the last four EU Masters.

Since we have established there aren’t big differences between the leagues, we can safely compare their stats, and it doesn’t look good for BTS.

Dragon2.512.34
Dragon Soul0.260.34
Baron0.740.93
Elder Drake0.030.10

Even when it comes to accumulating gold leads, S04E are far more efficient than BTS. The Germans average +243.5 GD@10, +1227.94 GD@15, and +2406.09 GD@20, whereas BTS average -433.62 GD@10, -538.90 GD@15, and +16.14 GD@20. Those stats also translate into BTS’ much weaker gold lead% at any point of the game, having in the last at 10, 15, and 25 minutes in only 37.92%, 37.93%, and 44.83% of their games respectively.

As it’s fairly obvious, BTS trail behind S04E in almost all metrics, which would make you wonder why are they priced only slightly above the German squad. And it’s not only the numbers BTS have produced up to EUM that are concerning but also their performance against Karmina Corp on Wednesday.

BTS’s EUM opener was tough to watch and not because it was poor LoL gameplay, but rather because they got completely outclassed in all positions. The only player who was seemingly trying was jungler Dimitar “LeBron” Kostadinov but was unable to make much happen due to the lackluster performances of his teammates.

FC Schalke 04 Evolution vs Cream Real Betis Betting Picks

Cream Real Betis could potentially step up and surprise on Thursday, but after what they showed on Wednesday, it’s hard to make a case for them. S04E are definitely weaker than Karmine Corp, however, that doesn’t mean BTS will fare better against them unless they make some fundamental changes in their approach.

Of course, BTS got outclassed in all lanes, but it was more their poor decision-making and a plethora of mistakes that cost them the win. I don’t view S04E as a team that can compete for the title, but they have definitely looked better than BTS in their EUM opener.

Prediction: FC Schalke 04 Evolution to win – 1.800 Pinnacle
