LOL LCS Spring Week 2 – Day 2 Betting Previews and Predictions
FlyQuest vs Counter Logic Gaming
Saturday, February 13 – 13:00 PST
Without losing too many words on Counter Logic Gaming, this team is outright bad and while the arrival of Broxah might help them a bit, I don’t see this team improving enough for them to come even close to competing for a playoffs ticket.
FlyQuest, on the other side, are your average team that likely won’t pick up any shock wins, but they also won’t lose against bottom-of-the-table teams. Yesterday they lost against 100T, which marked their third loss of the season and now sits them in seventh place with 1-3 record.
1-3 might not look too good, but you have to consider FlyQuest lost only to face Team Liquid, Evil Genuises and 100 Thieves, who are objectively three of the strongest teams in the league. In other words, FlyQuest had the toughest schedule of any other team so far, which suggests it can only go up for them from now on.
Prediction: FlyQuest to win – 1.568 Pinnacle
Cloud9 vs 100 Thieves
Saturday, February 13 – 14:00 PST
Cloud9 and 100 Thieves seem fairly equally matched which leads us to believe this match will be a complete coin flip. Although that makes 100T an appealing bet at above even money, something just doesn’t feel right about betting on 100T here.
C9’s ceiling is significantly higher and as soon as they can figure out the Fudge situation, that should become very obvious. Will that happen today, next week, or next month is anyone’s guess, but what I know for sure is that I will not take a position on this match.

Golden Guardians vs Dignitas
Saturday, February 13 – 15:00 PST
Dignitas beat Immortals yesterday where they did not look all that bad, although it’s worth noting IMT underperformed, so perhaps we should take DIG’s win with a grain of salt. Golden Guardians, on the other side, came extremely close to defeating TSM, but made a few too many errors, which eventually saw their lead slip away.
Some may see GG’s close bout with TSM as a positive, but for me, it was more of an indication that the Golden Guardians are a very weak macro play team. TO make matters worse, GG had a much better draft than TSM and still manage to win, which is a huge red flag.
With that in mind, Dignitas become a much more appealing bet even though they’re not a particularly good team. Regardless of that, DIG enter this match off their best performance this season, which is enough for me to back Dignitas at 1.80.
Prediction: Dignitas to win – 1.806 Pinnacle
TSM vs Team Liquid
Saturday, February 13 – 16:00 PST
There is not a lot to be said about this match that already wasn’t covered in our previous predictions. TSM enter this match off a VERY questionable win against Golden Guardians, which was a match they should have lost. Still, that fluke win has at least increased the odds on Liquid to 1.279, which is fairly high given the current performance of these teams.
I don’t see how Liquid can lose here, however, I would avoid a kill handicap bet, largely because Liquid rarely secure high kill counts. Moneyline bet on Liquid is the only bet I can recommend.
Prediction: Team Liquid to win – 1.279 Pinnacle
Immortals vs Evil Geniuses
Saturday, February 13 – 17:00 PST
Immortals enter this match after producing one of the worst games I have seen so far this split and even though I believed in this team only 24 hours ago, I just can’t anymore – or at least until they prove that was just an off-day rather than an indication of what to expect from then going forward.
With that in mind, I’m shocked to see Evil Genuises priced at 1.40 going into this match, which is just outlandishly high. Pinnacle has Immortals priced at 2.97, which implies they have a 33.7% chance of winning – but are they really capable of defeating EG every third game?
Well, if you take into consideration IMT have beaten Team Liquid, then the answer is probably yes, but let’s be real – that was a massive fluke win that IMT wouldn’t be able to recreate in 10 tries.
As talked about before, Evil Geniuses are a team that can lose any game due to their coin-flippy playstyle, but for this match, their individual quality should shine through their flaws. I would definitely consider IMT to win if they had shown any form of stability or at least made me believe they know what they’re doing in their games, but without a clear gameplan, poor game sense, and atrocious drafts, it’s hard to trust them. I’m taking EG at 1.40 every day of the week.
Prediction: Evil Geniuses to win – 1.40 Pinnacle
