LOL LCS Spring Week 3 – Day 2 Betting Previews and Predictions
Cloud9 vs Dignitas
Saturday, February 20 – 13:00 PST
In eyes of many, Dignitas have been overperforming a bit of late, which makes it seem like the obvious way to approach this bet is to go against the hype and side with the other team. That said, there is no denying Dignitas are playing very well and might actually prove to be a good team.
Will that be enough to defeat Cloud9 aka. the best team in the region? Well probably not, but it’s worth noting that C9 have been very volatile which makes me very hesitant to place money on them either on the Moneyline or a kill handicap.
Cloud9 should win here, which brings us to the next point – kills. C9 have been averaging 22.5 kills per win this season which is likely due to their fast-paced playstyle which speeds up the game for both sides and usually produced high-scoring affairs. I trust Dignitas can cause some damage, which is why I’m taking over 24.5 kills, which is a good bet for a game involving a team that has been averaging 24.6 kills in their winning games.
Prediction: Over 24.5 kills – 1.917 Pinnacle
Counter Logic Gaming vs Immortals
Saturday, February 20 – 14:00 PST
Counter Logic Gaming are by no means title contenders, but they looked very good yesterday, which might have had something to do with Broxah’s arrival to the team. Their performance against C9 leads me to believe this team will only get better with time – or at least once Broxah gets a chance to rest and properly train with his team.
Immortals, on the other side, have not been looking too good of late, however, I still have hope they can improve down the line. That said, they’re currently easily a bottom-two team in the league and until they start showing some form of improvement, I will avoid betting on them.
CLG’s one performance alone does not mean much in the greater picture and I don’t like overreacting to one result, but their improvement has been noticeable even before Broxah landed in the USA. This team has something going for them and there is such thing as a honeymoon phase which should serve as an added bonus as they face the worst team in the league (that is not Golden Guardians).
Prediction: Counter Logic Gaming -3.5 kills – 1.980 Pinnacle
TSM vs 100 Thieves
Saturday, February 20 – 15:00 PST
TSM’s rough patch that started during the LCS Lock-In seems to be slowly coming to an end, which effectively means we are in for much better showings from a squad that has been underperforming for quite a while. As mentioned above, I wouldn’t like to overreact to a couple of good performances, their improvement is very noticeable and I liked hearing Bjergsen saying he believes he has improved his draft issues – which is not a lie.
100T might sit at the top of the LCS standings, but I can’t help but feel like they’re not particularly clean in their wins. Their individual quality has saved them form devastating losses a couple of times thus far, but it’s only a matter of time before their poor decision making will bite them in the ass.
That’s not to say 100T can’t fix their issues, but it’s still something to take note of and realise 100T might not be as strong as many people pump them up to be.
Even though 100T are very tough to defeat, this match seems like a complete coin flip, largely because TSM have looked much better of. If they can continue playing the disciplined style of play and showcase it here, there is a legitimate chance TSM can steal a win and at 2.20, this is a bet I am happy to take.
Prediction: TSM to win – 2.20 Pinnacle
Team Liquid vs Evil Geniuses
Saturday, February 20 – 16:00 PST
Evil Geniuses are priced at 2.87 to win here which makes it very tempting to side with them, but there is a good reason why they’re priced as such big underdogs. EG have not impressed me with their recent showings, where they seemed very disorganized and off-sync, and even though they might have had a few off-days, the type of mistakes they have been making makes me believe the issues go much deeper than that.
You could argue that Team Liquid are struggling with similar problems, but I’m not ready to say they’re a bad team. Yes, Liquid suffered a few losses, but they’re still one of the top teams in the league, which they have showcased numerous times before.
For this match, you either trust Evil Genuises to bounce back majestically and defeat Liquid or you don’t bet at all. For me it’s the latter.

FlyQuest vs Golden Guardians
Saturday, February 20 – 17:00 PST
As mentioned above, Golden Guardians are the worst team in the league and while that may seem like I’m bashing on a stack of rookies for not measuring up to LCS veterans, I’m not. This team will improve down the line, but you can’t argue they’re the worst team in the LCS currently.
There is not much more to say here. If GG are the worst team in the league, then it’s easy to connect the dots and come up with the conclusion that FlyQuest are much stronger, which they are both individually and in their approach to the games.
It’s hard to praise FlyQuest too much considering they lost against Dignitas yesterday, but DIG are playing very well, so it’s not fair to criticise FlyQurst too much. I don’t like huge kill handicaps, but for this match, I have no choice but to take FlyQUest to win with at least seven kills to spare.
Prediction: FlyQuest -6.5 kill – 1.943 Pinnacle
