LOL LCS Spring Week 3 – Day 3 Betting Previews and Predictions
Dignitas vs TSM
Sunday, February 21 – 13:00 PST
By this point, it’s fair to say TSM are a good team even though it wouldn’t be fair to jump to any conclusions this early. That said, TSM have won six in a row, which includes fairly impressive wins against 100 Thieves, Evil Geniuses and Team Liquid, which are to some degree a by-product of TSM’s better drafting but in most part the individual performances of their players.
Dignitas, on the other side, got completely stomped by C9 yesterday in large part thanks to C9’s mid-jungle duo. With that in mind, Spica and PowerOfEvil are not as good as Perkz and Blaber and also approach their games differently, so it’s unclear whether Dignitas will struggle to deal with them as well.
If we draw a line, TSM are the better team, but they’re not worth a bet at these odds, nor am I overly excited about a kill handicap bet. It will be a fun match to watch, but I won’t have any money on it today.

Immortals vs FlyQuest
Sunday, February 21 – 14:00 PST
We’re four weeks in and it’s still hard to figure out Immortals. They either completely crush their opponents or suffer the same fate themselves, and have for that reason not been involved in any competitive matches. Their four losses came against Golden Guardians, TSM, Dignitas, and 100 Thieves, but they’ve also managed to defeat Evil Genuises, Team Liquid and Counter Logic Gaming, which shows this team has the quality, but they clearly lack stability and consistency.
FlyQuest are similar in a way that they look very good in their wins but terrible in losses. Still, they’ve managed to steal points from TSM, CLG and Golden Guardians which is OK.
FlyQuest are priced as favorites, but I don’t see it. This is a complete coin-flip match that can go both ways. While we don’t know which side will step up, we can be sure that the winning team will likely stomp their opponents, as is the tradition of these two teams.
Prediction: Immortals to win – 2.19 Pinnacle
100 Thieves vs Golden Guardians
Sunday, February 21 – 15:00 PST
I’ve mentioned it before and I’ll do it again – Golden Guardians are not a good team and until they start showing some improvement, I will continue to believe they will lose every match.
100T might not be a perfect team, but they’re definitely better than most of the league. I could go into what makes 100T much better than GG, but there is no need for that. Instead, we can take into account 100T’s fast-style of play, which usually sees their games end pretty fast if their opponents let them – and you can be sure GG don’t have the tools to prevent that. This game shouldn’t last for more than 32 minutes.
Prediction: Under 32:00 minutes – 1.641 Pinnacle
Team Liquid vs Cloud9
Sunday, February 21 – 16:00 PST
This is a match I won’t be betting on, simply because I don’t see a reason to bet on or against Team Liquid in their current state. The reigning LCS Lock-In champions have been very iffy of late, but even with those results, you shouldn’t jump to any conclusions and view them as anything less than a top-two team in the league.
Cloud9, on the other side, might seem like the best team in the league at the moment and there is no denying their mid-jungle duo are the best in the LCS. That said, C9 are still relatively weak in the sidelanes, which can be an issue when facing teams such as Liquid, who are well-rounded with quality players in all positions.
Both teams have the tools to win, but it’s incredibly difficult to predict which side will come out ahead, namely because they use vastly different playstyles. This is a pass for me, but if I had to pick a side, it’s Liquid.

Evil Genuises vs Counter Logic Gaming
Sunday, February 21 – 17:00 PST
Evil Genuises go from looking like a complete mess to an unstoppable force in a matter of a few days and continue to build their renown as one of the most unpredictable teams in the league. That, however, is not a big shock for me, since EG are a high-variance team and they seem to be proud of that brand.
CLG, on the other side looked good yesterday. In fact, they looked like they’re in an unlosable position, but you can’t really win games if you don’t do anything, can you?
It’s hard to say how this match will go. If these two teams play like they did two days ago, I can imagine CLG winning, but if we see a repeated showing from yesterday, it will be EG who will secure a comfortable win. One bet that is worth considering is over 25.5 kills, but due to the volatility of these two sides, I’m passing on this match altogether.
