LOL LCS Spring Week 4 – Day 2 Betting Previews and Predictions
Team Liquid vs FlyQuest
Saturday, February 27 – 13:00 PST
People seem to not be so high on Team Liquid after we saw them lose a couple of games but I wouldn’t overreact to that. Even their performance against TSM yesterday was not particularly bad, so it wouldn’t be too wise to start doubting this team just yet – expect them to turn on in the latter stages of the split and in the playoffs.
FlyQuest, on the other side, seem a bit overrated. Although I had high hopes for them, they are struggling a bit too much and don’t look too sharp of late. Like Liquid, they should improve later in the season, but as it stands they’re just not playing well
This is a match I can’t imagine Liquid losing, but as mentioned earlier this season, I’m not a big fan of huge kill spreads with Liquid playing. At the same time, I don’t expect FlyQuest to produce much resistance. Take that as you may, but this is a pass for me.

Evil Geniuses vs Cloud9
Saturday, February 27 – 14:00 PST
As already talked about before, I like Evil Geniuses, but only when they’re a massive underdog since they can upset the favorites with their aggressive and high-tempo playstyle. With that logic, it would make it seem like EG are a good bet (2.940 Pinnacle) against Cloud9, but I will have to make an exception here.
With Liquid struggling, Cloud9 are now undeniably the most dominant team in the league, which shows in their games. Yesterday we had C9 to cover the kill handicap, which they failed due to some shenanigans they were doing while hitting the Nexus. And while seeing your bet lose in such a fashion is quite infuriating, it was still a clean performance from C9.
Back to the topic, Cloud9’s jungler Robert “Blaber” Huang is playing extremely good and given how important junglers are in the current meta, you simply have to favour C9 in all of their games due to his performances alone. Luka “Perkz” Perković has been doing fine, but he has not yet reached his full potential, which makes me quite excited of how strong this team will become once both Perkz and Blaber get in form.
The kill handicap line is set at 6.5, which is fairly low for a game involving Cloud9. If we assume the boys in blue will win, you have to consider they’ve covered seven kills in all of their matches this season. That is not to say EG are particularly bad and they might even prove to be a competitive opponent here, but the offered odds are good enough for me to take C9 to win with seven kills to spare.
Prediction: Cloud9 -6.5 kills – 1.892 Pinnacle
Dignitas vs 100 Thieves
Saturday, February 27 – 15:00 PST
A clash between two teams that seem to be on a completely different trajectory. Dignitas continue to dominate the league and while I must say they’re playing well, I can’t help but feel like they’re going to fall sooner or laner. The only problem is that I don’t know when and how that will happen.
100 Thieves, on the other side have been getting away with some very iffy showings of late, so it’s very difficult to trust them to win, especially when they’re the favorites. If I had to pick a side here, I would take a shot on Dignitas, but this one is too risky for me.

Counter Logic Gaming vs TSM
Saturday, February 27 – 16:00 PST
Counter Logic Gaming lost against 100 Thieves yesterday, but they played fairly good. It was still a bit disappointing to see them lose in the end, but at least CLG are showing improvement and you just can’t help but feel excited how far they will go this season, especially now that they (finally) field their complete roster.
Even though I don’t expect CLG to compete for the title, I still view them as a punch-up underdog that I will continue to bet on against favourites, as long as they can compete at the level they displayed yesterday.
TSM are playing good LoL – at least much better than how they did earlier into the season – but at the current price, they are a bit overrated. Had CLG won yesterday, I would bet against them here, but at 3.26 this is a bet I can’t pass on. I’m also adding CLG to keep this match within seven kills.
Prediction: Counter Logic Gaming to win – 3.24
Prediction: Counter Logic Gaming +7.5 kills – 1.884 Pinnacle
Immortals vs Golden Guardians
Saturday, February 27 – 17:00 PST
I’ll keep this one short – like most other previews involving Golden Guardians. They’re a bad team and there is no hiding that. The lack of experience and quality makes them undeniably the worst team in the league and there is nothing that would suggest otherwise.
Although GG might look better in LCS Summer, when their rookies get the needed experience and adapt to the pro play, I just don’t trust this team to make much noise this split. Their next opponents, Immortals tend to be a hit-or-miss team most of the time, but they’re still far better than GG.
Prediction: Immortals to win – 1.613 Pinnacle
Prediction: Immortals -4.5 kills – 1.877 Pinnacle
