LoL Worlds 2020 Play-In – Day 3 Betting Previews and Predictions
Day two of the League of Legends 2020 World Championship Play-In stage is behind us, meaning only two more days are separating us from the elimination and the final qualification rounds which will round up the lineup for the main event. V3 Esports vs LGD Gaming
LGD Gaming, a team that entered the LoL Worlds Play-In stage billed as the team that will demolish everyone in their path have lost both of their opening games. While their loss against PSG Talon was somewhat reasonable, we don’t really know what to think about the Chinese roster after their loss to Rainbow7 this Saturday.
LGD Gaming are an example of how even the favorites can implode and while we still firmly believe that the individual quality on this squad is there, the performances hardly show that. Their next game against V3 should, in theory, be the easiest one to win – if LGD can improve upon what they have shown throughout the opening two days.
On one side there is a real possibility LGD can lose this one as well, but on the other, we are not confident betting against such a stacked roster – no matter how poorly they have performed so far.

Rainbow7 vs Unicorns of Love
Rainbow7 picked up a shock win against LGD Gaming this Saturday and with that caught the attention of many viewers. While we believed this team is capable of much more than what they led us to believe, that win was still a complete fluke so we would not put too much weight on it.
Nevertheless, R7 have proven they have some solid individual pieces and are more than capable of exploiting the opponents’ mistakes. In their next game, R7 will clash with Unicorns of Love which is bound to be an exciting game, which is usually the case with all games featuring UoL.
The Russian representatives have already defeated V3 Esports and PSG Talon, who are both fairly solid squads and since LGD Gaming blundered their first two games, UoL are now objectively the strongest team in Group A.
This game, while it heavily favours UoL could be much closer than what the odds might suggest. R7 have been playing well and while they still make some silly mistakes at times, we have to give credit where credit is due.
We would consider betting on R7 to keep it close would be a solid option, but the LLA representatives can be a hit-or-miss team when it comes to predicting how many kills they will manage to acquire. What’s more, UoL are individually extremely strong, which is why siding with the Russians to win with at least eight kills to spare makes the most sense for us.
Prediction: Unicorns of Love -7.5 kills – 1.751 at Pinnacle
PSG Talong vs V3 Esports
V3 have shown a few flashes of greatness so far, but they have also proven they lack the individual quality to compete with most of the other squads. We were quite impressed by the way V3 started their game against UoL where it was the Japanese roster who dictated the tempo of the game and not UoL, but in the end, V3 had to admit defeat as they ended up outclassed both individually and as a team.
Since V3 struggled to seal the deal against UoL, it’s very difficult to trust them to defeat PSG Talon. Even though PSG lost to Unicorns of Love, they’re still a very strong team that might not be as aggressive as some other squads, but boast an extremely strong synergy and tend to approach games very calculated.
If PSG Talon continue playing this way, this team can potentially impress many and while we don’t like to undervalue any squad – especially in Bo1 – PSG Talon are just too stable and are not high enough variance for us to believe V3 can cause an upset.
Prediction: PSG Talon -6.5 kills – 1.854 at Pinnacle
Unicorns of Love vs LGD Gaming
LGD Gaming has proven to be too high variance for us to consider betting on their games – they might find their form and cruise through the Play-In stage through the knockout stage or finish the tournament 0-4.
