Comfortably sitting at the top of Eliteserien, Molde have proven they are incredibly strong at home and at the same time shown some weakness away from home. Their real test, however, will come this weekend, when they face off against Molde who have not yet tasted defeat at home. Furthermore, Brann have not defeated Molde at home ground since 2006. We have to go way back to 2011 to see Brann picking up a single point at Aker Stadion, which ultimately translates to 6 fixtures Brann walked away empty handed.
Verdict & Prediction
Molde do sit at the top of the league, still, their performances have not brilliant. They tend to underperform a bit in the defense, which was clearly seen in their matches against Tromso and Kristiansund, where they conceded 2 and 3 goals. However, ever since the return of Kristoffer Haugen, Molde have improved slightly and became more solid in defense. Looking at the upcoming fixture, we must mention again that Molde have a perfect 6-0-0 score at Aker Stadion and while that is impressive on its own, Molde have scored 18 times and conceded only twice in the 6 home games.
As for the visiting team, they do perform decently away from home, however, that won’t be enough to win at Aker Stadion, which is something they haven’t done since 2006. All things considered, Molde are the better side at the moment and historically. There is simply nothing positive to say about Brann, who have been widely inconsistent this season, had 4 days less to prepare for the match and historically struggle at Aker Stadion. Expect a dominant show from Molde who should walk away with all 3 points.
