Nashville SC vs Inter Miami CF
When: Sunday, May 2 – 12:00 CDT
Where: Nissan Stadium in Nashville, Tennesee, USA
Weather: Cloudy, 24°C
Nashville SC have yet to win a match this season, however, they haven’t lost one yet either. The hosts enter this match of two 2-2 draws with FC Cincinnati and Club de Foot Montreal, hoping to add a W to their record.
Inter Miami CF started the season with a 2-3 loss to Los Angeles Galaxy but followed it up with a 2-1 victory against the Philadelphia Union on Sunday. They’re now seventh on the ladder with three points, meaning a win would catapult them into the top-two.
Inter Miami CF Making All the Right Moves
The Herons are looking like a very promising project. The part-owner and president David Beckham had decided to add his former teammate Phile Nevile as the head coach of the team which proved to be a great decision, and it seems like the six-time Premier League champion is happy with the team at his disposal.
Inter Miami FC struggled a bit in their season opener against Los Angeles Galaxy, but it wasn’t like they performed poorly. Inter Miami took secured the lead in 45’+2 and needed only six minutes to respond to Galaxy’s goal in 62′ to get themselves ahead again.
Unfortunately, things didn’t end as planned for the hosts, who conceded two more in 73′ and 81, to lose with a minimal margin. It’s important to note, however, that Inter Miami were a bit unlucky with their shots that day since they shot the ball 8/19 on target while allowing Galaxy only 5/6.
Inter Miami looked much better against Philadelphia Union who they beat 2-1 thanks to goals from Gonzalo Higuain and his brother Federico. Unfortunately, they are doubtful to play tonight due to losing their mother to cancer this week.
Nevertheless, Neville has plenty of options to fill in the gaps, so missing the two shouldn’t impact the team as much as it may seem. Perhaps giving the younger players a chance to prove themselves will prove beneficial in the long term.
Nashville SC Searching for Their First W
Nashville started their 2021 MLS campaign with two 2-2 draws against FC Cincinnati and Club de Foot Montreal. While holding two points after two rounds of play doesn’t seem too bad, we expected much more from the Nashville outfit.
They entered both bouts as heavy favorites but failed to live up to the expectations. While they have managed four goals, Nashville SC also conceded four, two against Cincinnati who are anything but a potent offensive team.
On a more positive note, Nashville SC beat Inter Miami at Nissan Stadium twice last year with 3-0 and 1-0, while forcing a 0-0 stalemate on the road. Nashville SC then went on to finish the season eight points above Inter Miami – but that was all in 2020, and we’re now in 2021.
Nashville SC vs Inter Miami CF Betting Picks
With the way Inter Miami CF have been playing of late, it’s hard to doubt them for this match. Even though they’ll likely miss the Higuain brothers, and the fact that they haven’t beaten Nashville yet, we have plenty of reasons to trust them to force at least a draw.
They were a bit unlucky in their loss to Galaxy and played well against the Union last time out, whereas Nashville have yet to show us anything worth mentioning. Take the visitors with a 0.5 goal handicap.
Prediction: Inter Miami CF +0.50 Asian Handicap
