New York Red Bulls v Toronto FC – MLS Betting Preview + Prediction
28 May 2016, Red Bull Arena, 23:00 GMT +0
New York Red Bulls come into the game after an incredible 7-0 victory last weekend against derby rivals, New York City. The win sees the side move to the top half of the overall table for the first time this season as well as posting a positive goal difference for the first time. The team will be hoping that will be the springboard to improve their season with 4 wins in 6 games. The side will also be able to name an unchanged team with no new injury worries for the side. Meara and Perrinelle are still injured but Jesse Marsch will have the rest of the squad to select from. The side also have two in form players with Grella and B. Wright-Phillips enjoying a good run with 9 goals between them this season.
Toronto come into the game off a 0-0 draw with Columbus Crew. It was their 4th draw of the season and see them continue their indifferent form in recent weeks with only one win in their last five. The side sit in 11th place overall and will be hoping to get back into the form that saw them occupying a top half position for much of the season so far. The squad will still be missing Cheyrou, Altidore and Delgado through injury whilst Bradley will be missing as he’ll be on international duty with the USMNT. The midfield looks a little light and they could suffer against a New York side that will be coming into the game full of confidence after their 7-0 win last weekend.
NYRB have scored 16 goals in 6 games which is skewed by their 7 goal win last weekend but perhaps a clearer indication of how the club have improved is by their improved defence with only conceding 5 goals in those 6 games with the signing of Collin being a big help at the back. They will be full of confidence after beating their fiercest rivals, New York City, 7-0 away from home last weekend. Their performance was superb and gave them their 4th win in 6 games as they start to find some form after a terrible start to the season. Take NYRB to get all three points today.
