In tonights Eastern COnference matchup, we will look at Philadelphia 76ers hosting Orlando Magic at Wells Fargo Center, the home of the 76ers.
Looking at the visiting team, Orlando Magic is coming into this match after a high defeat against Charlotte Hornets (88:120). It was a disappointing performance from them to say the least. Looking at how the match went, Orlando Magic were outscored by 12 points in the 1st quarter (10:22), scoring only 10 points! Neither of the teams were really spectacular in the 1st quarter, but having 20.8%FG and scoring 10 points.. it’s worrying. Looking at the remaining 3 quarters, Magic never really came close of closing the gap. In each passing quarter, the Hornets grew their lead up until the final whistle, when they were 32 points above Magic.
The home side, Philadelphia 76ers won their 1st game of the season in their recent match against Bulls. The match started off fast, with teams combining 79 points in the 1st quarter alone (38:41). The 2nd quarter saw Philadelphia 76ers stepping up their game and regained the lead. WIth their good defensive work, they held Bulls at only 23.1%FG which resulted in a low scoring quarter (27:21), a complete opposite of what we have seen in the 1st quarter. With teams separated by 7 points (65:58), they stepped into the 3rd quarter, which was once more a high scoring one, at least for 76ers (37:18). WIth superb performance, Philadelphia was 26 points ahead by the end of the 3rd quarter, and it more or less sealed the deal for Chicago. The 4th quarter saw teams scoring 57 points in total (25:32), with Bulls managing to reduce the gap by 7 points, however, that was not nearly enough for them to catch up to the Sixers. The game ended with 127:108 in Philadelphia’s favor.
Looking at the Orlando Magic, they started the season really slow. In addition, we just don’t see any talent in their roster, their defense is terrible, they have undersized perimeter… There is just so much wrong with the team I simply don’t see them being any serious competitor this season. On the other side, Philadelphia will be more than happy to play against a team such as Orlando and their defense. I see a great opportunity for them to add another win to the season and an excellent chance for Fultz to find his rhythm. All in all, expect a blowout and Sixers winning this one with double digits.
