After finishing 6th in the East, being knocked out of the MLS Cup Playoffs in the first round and finishing as the Runner-up in the U.S. Open Cup, the Philadelphia Union stepped into the preseason, which was not too promising. But then again, their results last season were not terrible. In fact, I would say this young and exciting team played well and seemingly started to come together.
Head Coach: Jim Curtin
He has been with Philadelphia Union since 2014 when he took over the position of the head coach after being an assistant for 1 year. Since he took over the Union, they have finished as runner-up in the U.S. Open Cup 3 times, as well as managed to get into the playoffs in 2016 and 2018.

Expectations for the 2019 season
Coming into the 2019/20 season, Philadelphia Union has made a big change, which should help with their problems in the offensive line. The so-called change is the signing of Mexican international Marco Fabian. With his experience and technical qualities, the Philadelphia Union midfield will surely flourish. Additionally, Fabian is also not afraid to take the ball to the goal which should help Philadelphia scoring more goals. What I expect from this side in the upcoming season is another mid-table finish. They are improving and a lot is expected from Fabian, however, they will need more time and a few more star players if they wish to finish among the top teams. Silverware is possible but I would not count on it.
