Presidents Cup 2017 – Golf betting preview
Presidents Cup 2017 is just around the corner, as it will take placemat Liberty National Golf Club in Jersey City this weekend. This event is a great way to give European players a chance to experience the atmosphere and excitement in playing against the best golfers from the USA. The event will start on Thursday (28th of September) with 5 foursome matches, followed by 5 four-balls on Friday. On Saturday 4 foursome and 4 four-balls will take place, first one in the morning, and four-balls in the afternoon. The event will come to an end on Sunday with 12 singles. The whole event will consist of 4 days. As for the weather, you can check it out here.
Seeing Team USA taking on Team International seems a great clash, at least on the paper, as Team USA has proven time and time again they are a superior team. The International team has won this event only once, back in 1998 and as it looks like it won’t happen anytime soon. Comparing experiences from golfers at this venue, USA has 8 golfers that have played here before, whereas International team has only 4, but they do have a champ here (Adam Scott in 2013). This may even the things up, experience wise.
Presidents Cup will take place in Jersey City, New Jersey as mentioned before and it will be the first time this event will take place at the Liberty National. However, it’s a familiar venue as it hosted the Northern Trust twice (2009 and 2013). The course itself is a par 71, covered in bentgrass greens with 7,328 yards. This week we will see some changes, that will make this competition even more interesting. All three of the par 5s are on the outward nine which leaves a trio of par 3s on the back nine, that includes two of the three finishing holes.

Predictions
Top American Scorer – Dustin Johnson
Dustin Johnson, 16 times PGA Tour winner is having his best year in his career, with 4 wins this season already, sadly he did not win any Majors, thus he was unable to win FedEx Cup. Looking at his performance in 2015 Presidents Cup, he scored 3 wins out of 4 and this will be his 1st hole soil appearance. In my opinion, the biggest threats to his success are Justin Thomas and of course Patrick Reed(top scorer of the American team in the Ryder Cup). However betting on Dustin Johnson still seems as the optimal bet. Presidents Cup record – Apps: 2, Record: W4, L4, H1
Prediction: Dustin Johnson to be Top American Scorer
Stake: 1 Unit
Odds: 5.50 Betfair, Bet365
Top International Scorer – Jason Day
Jason Day seems as he is in good form this season, and much of the success of the International team will be dependant on how Day performs. Due to his great performances recently, he is a clear favourite to be the top scorer and I believe the winner of the PGA Championship 2015 can do it. Form: T27-T24-T9-T6-T25-4-T17. Presidents Cup record – Apps: 3, Record: W4, L8, H3
Prediction: Jason Day to be Top International Scorer
Stake: 1 Unit
Odds: 5.50 Betfair, Bet365
