Match: Lazio vs Chievo | Prediction : Lazio to win
Lazio will have their eyes on a return to winning ways at home to an out of form Chievo, whom they will fully believe they can beat in front of their own supporters. Only a win will satisfy the hosts, who have been strong at home, winning eight of their 11 home fixtures. The defeat at Juventus won’t have knocked their confidence, as they were up against superior opposition last time out, while there should be no shortage of motivation, with nearly all of the teams who are competing with them for a European place winning last week. Lazio need to get back on track. Chievo are on a disappointing run, losing each of their last four matches in Serie A and being knocked out of the Coppa Italia in that period as well. This is the worst losing run they’ve been on since October 2014 and they’ll be keen to put an end to it in the capital. A draw would be considered as a very good result, but they will be determined to go one better and pull off a shock win. However, they’ve been struggling on their travels of late and belief is likely to be lacking with them losing games and leaking goals.
Match: Inter vs Pescara | Prediction : Inter to win
Inter are playing with confidence and will fully expect to pick up another three points when they go up against struggling Pescara. They’ll believe they can come out on top and will be very disappointed if they fail to keep their winning streak going. There is optimism around the club once again and they have got themselves into the hunt for a top three finish by winning six Serie A matches in a row, winning their last eight in all competitions. They’ll be motivated to extend their winning run to keep the pressure on the teams above them. Pescara continue to struggle and now trail 17th placed Empoli by 12 points, with relegation looking more and more likely with every passing week. They travel to take on Inter short of confidence and lacking belief, although they are desperate for a win. They are yet to win a game on the pitch this season though, with their only victory being awarded to them after the event when Sassuolo fielded an ineligible player against them earlier in the campaign. If taken in isolation a draw would be excellent, but they really need the three points.
Match: Fiorentina vs Genoa | Prediction : Fiorentina to win
Fiorentina have won their last two matches in Serie A and will be keen to make it three in a row at home to a Genoa side that tend to struggle on their travels. Paulo Sousa’s side are unbeaten at home, but anything less than a win would be a frustrating outcome. Having been knocked out of the Coppa Italia in midweek, they will be looking to bounce back and need to step their game up in Serie A to finish in the European places. Playing at home, they will believe in their ability to pick up all three points. Genoa travel to take on Fiorentina out of form, as they are without a win in their last five Serie A fixtures and are lacking confidence at the moment. They at least arrested a run of four straight defeats by drawing with Crotone last time out, but having been ahead twice, drawing wasn’t good. Away from home they are really struggling as well and have taken just one point from their last seven matches on the road. Therefore, belief is likely to be in short supply and they could really struggle if they fall behind. They need something to give them a lift.
