Tottenham v Bournemouth – Premier League

Tottenham v Bournemouth - Premier League

Tottenham v Bournemouth - Premier League

After a huge win against Everton, Tottenham will host Bournemouth at Wembley Stadium. A win here would cement their 3rd place in the league.

With a 14-0.4 record this season and 42 points, Tottenham are sitting at 3rd spot in the league, 5 points above Chelsea and 2 points behind Manchester City. In their last 5 games, Tottenham has won 4 and lost 1. As of now, they are on a 4 game winning streak, defeating Southampton (3:1), Leicester (0:2), Burnley (1:0) and most recently Everton (2:6). The only team that defeated Tottenham in the course of the last 5 games was Arsenal on December 2nd (4:2). Looking at Tottenham last match against Everton, the final result was impressive, to say the least. Most everyone expected Tottenham to win, but I can safely say the 4 goal margin was surprising. All in all, Tottenham held the ball 58% of the time, had 17 goal attempts and 8 shots on goal, whereas Everton had 42% ball possession, 10 goal attempts and 3 shots on goal. Form-wise in the last 5 league matches, Tottenham is 2nd, behind Liverpool who won all 5 games. In the course of those 5 games, Tottenham scored 14 goals and conceded 7. Looking at away games, Tottenham is 4-0-1 in the last 5 with 14 goals scored and 8 conceded.

The visiting side, Bournemouth are currently 8th in the league with an overall record of 8-2-8 and 26 points. Looking at their last 5 games, they have won 2 and lost 3. They have lost to Manchester City (3:1), Liverpool (0:4), Wolves (2:0) and won against Huddersfield (2:1) and most recently Brighton (2:0). In the course of those 5 games, Bournemouth has scored 5 goals and conceded 10. In their most recent match against Brighton, Bournemouth scored an opener in the 21st minute, despite having only 1 shot on goal. On the other side, Brighton had 8 goal attempts and 3 shots on goal, however, they failed to convert their chances into a goal. The second half was in Bournemouth favour, as they had 63% ball possession, 8 goal attempts and 2 shots on goal, whereas Brighton had only 37% ball possession, 2 goal attempts and 2 shots on goal. The 2nd goal of the match came soon after Brighton player was sent off after receiving the 2nd yellow (Dunk in 73rd minute). In 77th minute Bournemouth scored their 2nd goal which sealed the deal for Brighton who was 2 goals and 1 player down with 13 minutes left in the match. Final score: 2:0.

Bournemouth has been struggling against top 6 teams this season, however, did however improve and can make a match a bit harder for top teams when playing against them. They lost to Chelsea 1:0, Manchester City 1:3, 1:2 against Arsenal and 1:2 against Manchester United. Those results were all a loss, but most of the matches were close, ending with only 1 goal margin. The AH line is set at -1.5 which we won’t bet simply because I don’t believe Tottenham can be a dominant side like in their previous match. In that regard, the Over/under bet is much more appealing for us to bet on. The line is set at 3.25 goals which is quite high considering Bournemouth decent performances against top teams. I don’t believe this match will see over 3 goals, that is why we will be betting on under 3.25 goals.

Prediction: Under 3.25 goals
