Betting-Previews.com returns with another set of Counter-Strike: Global Offensive betting tips and predictions for the 10th day of action at WePlay Academy League. As per usual, we have four games on the schedule and five betting picks for you to look at.
WePlay Academy League Day 10
Mouz NXT and Young Ninjas both delivered yesterday, helping us deliver on two of our main selections for WePlay Academy League Day 9. Although it earned us a negative return on the day (-0.12 units), we’re still holding a positive record on the tournament with 5.38 units of profit across 37 selections, with a 20.3% ROI and 54.1% hit rate.
BIG Academy vs mouz NXT
Wednesday, July 28 – 17:00 CEST
BIG Academy and mouz NXT already met once before at this tournament, with BIG Academy winning the match 16-13 on Nuke. Nico “Aqua” Kembitzky was the best player on the server that day, ending the game with 30 frags, 111 ADR, and 1.51 HLTV rating, while on the side of mouz NXT, it was Ádám “torzsi” Torzsás who was their star player with 28 frags, 104 ADR and 1.44 HLTV rating.
The said match was incredibly close, and it really came down to a couple of minor mistakes. However, it is also fair to mention that mouz NXT were up 11-7 at some point, so they should be motivated to claim a revenge win here.
Mouz NXT enter the match as 1.49 favorites, while BIG Academy are priced around 2.40 to win the match, which underrates mouz NXT a little. The rounds handicap line was at -4.50 rounds yesterday and has since moved down to -3.50 rounds, and I have to say yesterday’s line was way more accurate.
The line move has to be on the back of BIG Academy s dominant and overrated win over Astralis Talent, which, to be honest, doesn’t really mean anything! Bet on mouz NXT to cement their status as the best team at this tournament!
Prediction: mouz NXT -3.50 Rounds – 1.917 at Pinnacle (0.50 Units)
Young Ninjas vs Astralis Talent
Wednesday, July 28 – 18:00 CEST
The last time these two met, Young Ninjas destroyed Astralis Talent with 16-3 on Overpass. Linus “nilo” Bergman was on another level that day, 21 frags, 132.5 ADR and 1.88 HLTV rating, while on the side of Astralis, things looked pretty grim, with Alexander ‘Altekz’ Givskov the only player with a positive HLTV rating (1.01), while the rest managed 0.50 HLTV rating and below.
It is essential to look around for the best betting odds, especially at this kind of lower-end tournament, and you will notice that many bookmakers have very different odds and lines, which you can take full advantage of. You can get Astralis Talent with a +6.50 rounds handicap at 1.80 on Bet365, and this has to be the best bet to take here! The odds are incredibly skewed on the back of Australia’s defeat against BIG Academy and the fact that Young Ninjas destroyed NAVI Junior on Mirage, but you need to look at the bigger picture.
Astralis Talent have reached double digits against the likes of Fnatic Rising and mouz NXT, and I can’t see why they wouldn’t be able to do it against the overrated Young Ninjas! The +6.50 rounds in a BO1 match between the young players that are all playing online is a gift!
Prediction: Astralis Talent +6.50 Rounds – 1.80 at Bet365 (0.50 Units)
Alternative: Over 25.50 Rounds – 2.00 at Bet365 (0.50 Units)
NAVI Junior vs VP.Prodigy
Wednesday, July 28 – 19:00 CEST
We have the CIS derby on our hands, with NAVI Junior priced as the 1.39 favorites, while VP.Prodigiy are at 2.85 to win the match, which seems fair. NAVI Junior are definitely the better teams as far as the players go, considering VP.Prodigy have no one that can compare to the likes of Ilya “m0NESY” Osipov and Eugene “Aunkere” Karyat.
VP.Prodigy won the previous match against Fnatic Rising, 22-20 on Overpass. They were down 7-13 at one point, and it looked pretty much a done deal, but they somehow managed to get it done. As for NAVI Junior, they lost against Young Ninjas, 11-16 on Mirage, a map where you would expect m0NESY to shine. Well, he did and put up impressive numbers – 32 frags, 125 ADR, and 1.75 HLTV rating, but his side still lost the match.
The previous meeting between NAVI Junior and VP.Prodigy ended in a 16-1 stomp by NAVI Junior on Ancient. I was pretty surprised by the results, considering the players should all known each other quite well, but it is what it is.
I expect a much more competitive affair this time out, and to be perfectly honest, I would rather watch the match than bet on it. The betting odds seem pretty much on point on most markets, so I will go for a speculative bet on NAVI Junior to win and over 25.5 rounds.
Prediction: NAVI Junior to win and over 25.5 rounds – 2.50 at Pinnacle (0.50 Units)
FURIA Academy vs Fnatic Rising
Wednesday, July 28 – 20:00 CEST
Fnatic Rising were already celebrating their win over VP.Prodigy while holding a 13-7 lead, but that backfired – they eventually collapsed and lost the match 20-22 on Overpass. On a more positive note, Iulian “regali” Harjău had a fantastic performance with 38 frags, 88 ADR and a 1.24 HLTV rating, so at least he is keeping his form up. As for FURIA Academy, they are now on a seven-match losing streak and they look like the worst team at the tournament.
The last time these two met, Fnatic Rising won the match 16-5 on Inferno without any real issues, largely thanks to regali, who ended the match with 21 frags, 95 ADR, and 1.66 HLTV rating.
I don’t expect Fnatic Rising to look as dominant as they did last time out; however, there is no denying that FURIA Academy are in terrible shape and highly unlikely to claim a revenge victory. Unibet once again failed to update the odds, and we’re able to get 1.90 on Fnatic Rising with a -3.50 rounds handicap. The line should be at -4.50 rounds, so this has to be the best value bet!
Prediction: Fnatic Rising -3.50 Rounds – 1.90 at Unibet (0.50 Units)
