Soon into the 2nd half, Brisbane got a penalty which was successfully converted into a goal, which got the teams leveled at 2:2. The match continued with Brisbane being more dangerous with their possession but failed to score a winning goal. It was a disappointing result for WS Wanderers and a great comeback from the visitors, who got the much-deserved point. Final score: 2:2
The visiting team, Newcastle Jets are still without a win this season. Currently at the 9th spot and an overall record of 0-2-2. In their last match, the Jets surprised with a good performance, drawing against Sydney FC, who are now at 2nd spot due to only getting a point in the mentioned match. The match between Jets and Sydney started off with a goal in 20′ when Brosque got his team a lead. Although both teams had some good opportunities, even more so the Jets, there was only 1 goal in the first 45 minutes. The second half saw more opportunities on goal by both teams, with Jets again having more goal attempts. With more opportunities, you can expect them to score a goal sooner or later, and they did so…later, much later in 87′ from a corner kick. Sydney produced another good chance in 92′, but failed to convert it into a goal, which meant the teams will split the points. Final score 2:2.
Looking at the last H2H match between WS Wanderers and Newcastle Jets on 16th of February, it ended in a draw (1:1). This time they will play in the same venue, but will we see the same result? Newcastle Jets are not in the best spot this season, as they are clearly struggling, however, their performance against Sydney was admirable. Despite not winning a match this season, they have got the drive in them to perform in every match they play. I am just waiting for them to find their rhythm and once they do, you can expect them to climb the standings. Their opponents, WS Wanderers have shown a completely opposite picture in their last match. What I expect to see here is a close match, which just might end in a draw, but I believe the Jets are a slight favorite to take this one, that is why our prediction is to bet on Jets +0.25. The odds have dropped, but there is still some value left, although not enough for us to recommend this one for our premium members.
